Founded in 1967, Bloomfield Youth Assistance (BYA) provides youth and family services, including caseworker counseling, educational programming, scholarships, youth recognition and mentorship.
We aim to strengthen Bloomfield youth and families through community involvement, reducing the incidence of delinquency, abuse and neglect.
We provide confidential casework services and receive referrals for these services from the police, teachers, parents, guidance counselors, social workers and The Family Court Division Intake Unit. Typical reasons for referral include retail fraud, school and home problems, assault, alcohol and drug abuse, and violations of local ordinances.
Essential to our vibrancy and success is our ability to respond to community needs. We identify issues that contribute to delinquency, abuse and neglect and then mobilize to locate existing community resources to address the challenge. And, if a resource doesn't exist, we develop those programs and initiatives.
Please consider joining our organization -- we’re actively recruiting passionate, actionable volunteers. If you have an interest, we have a spot for you, email bya@bloomfield.org.
